About Me

I love nature: the animals, the plants, our natural earth and everything in and on it. Nature is my driving force in creating art,
therefore it is also, most often, my subject matter. I live in a quintessential New England town, near a land preserve teeming
with abundant animal and plant life. On any given day, I look out my window and never know what I will see. Some days,
I might be fortunate enough to glimpse a rarely-seen warbler, during the spring or fall migration. Or a bobcat might walk through my yard on one of his stealthy prowls. I can never predict what I’ll have the privilege to witness.

As far back as I can remember, I drew. Almost always nature. But of my early drawings, only three or four remain, thanks to my late aunt who saved them (I created these between 4 and 5 years of age-see below). Despite my ability to draw, my formal art education had to wait.

After many years of working for a utilities company, and with my supportive husband behind me, I decided to fulfill a lifelong dream and go to school for art. I now have my Master of Fine Arts Degree in illustration, and have been a professional illustrator, fine artist, teacher and web designer for over fifteen years.
